Potential New Treatment for Multiple Sclerosis - CBS News
A new drug, BG-12, is showing promising results after the completion of clinical studies. BG-12, a drug that would be taken orally as a pill, showed a 50% reduction in relapses and brain scarring through a two year trial. While we are all still working hard to find a cure, each day we are getting closer and learning to control the disease through these treatments. If approved by the FDA, BG-12, which is being developed by drug maker Biogen Idec, will become the third oral drug for people with multiple sclerosis. Stay optimistic! So much progress is being made and the future is bright! We will find a cure!
